End of School Year Events

I get so excited for summer I can hardly stand it. It's the time of year that there is a commitment every other minute...a party here, an awards ceremony there, recitals galore, ...this is when schools cram it all in. It's all exciting and exhausting.

Run Club Party - Allan (1st) and Emily (3rd) were top finishers for their grades.

Kickball Game - 6th Graders vs. Teachers - Allan made a few great catches and played well overall.

Allan's 6th Grade Band Concert - Plays the cornet

Another exciting Kickball Game - 6th Graders vs. Parents - The kids were fired up for this one since they lost to the teachers. Yet, another lost.

Nathan performed Cannon in D by Pachelbel Bach at his piano recital. It was beautiful. He also was the award recipient for his grade level for the most practice time and points.

We went to a super fun water fight at our neighbors. Thanks to Debbie, she filled 250 water balloons in 2 hours. They were gone in less than 10 minutes.

She is always so considerate and set aside quite a few "pink" ones for Emily and Rachel. The boys spend the remainder of the time using waterguns and playing on the slip and slide.

To start the swim team season this summer, we attended a special event with Olympic swimmers with 300 kids. It was packed but there was a ton of excitement. The kids swam some warm up laps and some relays with Ian Crocker, Garrett Weber-Gale, Matt Grevers, Christine Magnuson, Maritza Correia, and Melvin Stewart.

The Olympic swimmers swam while the kids created as much commotion as they could.

After changing, we met they out front where they gave the kids a gift bag of new googles, an aqua towel(totally amazing), and a swim cap. They each gave a motivational speech. It was a fun morning.

Cheatham Elementary celebrated making their goal of selling books at the Book Fair. Their principal, Mrs. Hale, and counselor, Mrs. Barnes, were Duct Taped to the columns one morning.

It was a "sticky situation" that kept them hanging around. The morning announcements were exciting that day.

Special Lunch Date with Emily eating on the stage.

A ton of ice skating at the Allen Event Center. Nathan has loved his class and has moved up a level.

Joshua earned another bead at Pack meeting. He should have his wolf by next month.
