Allan's 14th Birthday

We celebrated Allan's birthday twice. The first time on his actual birthday, Nov. 23 and a second time when Grandpa and Grandma came. We took Allan to Pasados and it was a treat!

Allan turned 14 Years Old. 14. The big 14! Although my little boy is growing up, I am excited about the young man he is becoming. Oh, I love this boy.

14 Things I love about him.
1. He’s pretty musical.  Not only does he love to listen to music constantly (Lord of the Rings soundtrack)he is doing great on the tuba. I love listening to Allan and Nathan practice together.

2. He is a grateful child.  He thanks me like a bazillion times for everything I do for him - laundry, pack his lunch, cook his breakfast, drive carpool, etc...He is so appreciative.

3. He tries hard at things.  He's put his heart into football and you can see his attitude has helped him do well.

4. He is one of the greatest examples to his brothers and sisters.

5. He is easy-going and low maintenance. He is not demanding at all.

6. He is awesome at taking care of our yard. He is my go to boy for this work.

7. He is observant. He knows when I am stressed and is always willing to help when things are falling apart.

8. He loves the scriptures. He reads them daily without anyone saying anything and marks them.

9. He is a good kid. He really tries to make the best choices his Heavenly Father would want him to.

10. He loves when I cook for him and is always willing to be one of the first to try new foods.

11. He is a hard worker.

12. He is one smart kid! I am at a lost to help him in math and he is able to be persistant and figure it out.

13. He can be competitive and loves to win, but always a good sport.

14. He is a humble kid who doesn't want to be the center of the attention.

Gratitude

November was a month to be grateful and there is so much I am grateful for. Gratitude=Happiness. I am so grateful for this husband of mine. For my children. For friends. For my parents. For the Gospel. This month, Allan gave us a challenge to see who could come up with the longest list of things they were grateful for. Emily took it seriously and won with 141 things.

Allan - Eagle Scouts

Scouting rocks!!! We have so many great memories of scouting events, scout activities, and dedication to earn awards.

\

Allan earned his Eagle Scout Rank. Here he is with scouting memorabilia. The ceremony was well planned with the slide show, photographer, and refreshments.

Allan with two of the most dedicated Scout Leaders, Doug Hermann and Rich Walton.
Allan chose to give his mentor pin to his Dad. In Allan's words, "he pushed me and kept the wheels turning."
