Cheatham Elementary

We are so excited for Cheatham Elementary to open this Fall 2010. Here are some pictures of the construction with some of our best friends, the Hintons.

Happy Easter!

The girls loved their first Easter Egg Hunt this year. Rachel held her basket like a purse. For the first minute, Emily was hestitant and stayed by my side. Then she raced throughout the park and easily found a ton of eggs and helped Rachel find some as well.

Bike Riding

All of the kids love riding bikes in front of the house. Emily and Rachel will bring out their bikes while Jacob plays football with the boys.

Of course Rachel has to wear a helmet so she can be like the boys.

Boon Open House

I love attending every event at my kids school. They have such a welcome atmosphere. The Open House was amazing as always and I love seeing the teachers highlight individual strengths of their students.Nathan's teacher is Collen Hite. I love her energy and enthusiasm as a young teacher. This is her second year teaching. The biggest improvement I have seen in Nathan is his writing. He is including detail and writing "superb" sentences.
Allan's main teacher is Ms. Harty. She has taught school for 37 years and will be retiring at the end of this year. He has two other teachers and rotates through classes. The biggest improvement in Allan this year is his sense of responsibility. He gets his work done on time and keeps things well organized in his binder.
Joshua loved showing us his classroom frogs. His teacher this year is Mrs. Allen who will be teaching 2nd grade at Cheatham. We'll see if he gets her again next year. He is her "go to" boy. Whenever something needs to be done responsibly, she chooses him. Joshua has become a great reader this year and is one of the top readers in his class.

Update on the Kids and My Thoughts

My Thoughts and Feelings as of Today
My younger brother Gary is getting married in two months. We will be going to the wedding in Washington DC. He asked me for all of my favorite recipes for his wedding gift. I would love to put a hardbound book together using blurb. I just need time.

I am ready for a new haircut but I can't decide what style.

I am anxious for spring just so I can plant a garden. Hurry up!

I taught preschool today. I love this group. So easy to teach and so easy to plan for.

My boys need haircuts.

I went to a great Stake RS Workshop on Saturday. Very uplifting and so many sisters shared their talents. Someone experienced said parenting gets harder when your kids get older. This thought scares me.

Allan
*started flag football and LOVES it. Practices in the airplane field close to our house. So close. So perfect. An answer to prayers. Also practices with the 7th Grade team when he can. His coach calls him BYU and loves his enthusiasm.

* Her vocabulary is really growing and is always asking, "what does ______ ?" The other day she asked, "What does precocious mean?"

Rachel
*loves shoes. A lot. She carries them where ever I let her. We lost one at the library the other day and she wasn't even wearing that one. I'm grateful we found it in the lost and found.
