Happy Halloween!

My new VT brought over cupcakes and things to decorate with and visited while we decorated cupcakes. Rachel LOVED it! It was so thoughtful.  

The kids were thrilled to come home to some delicious desserts.

This year our costumes were Hobbits, Galadriel (girl elf), and Tinkerbell.

Dan Davis taught our Webelos all about rocks. The boys especially loved walking in the riverbed and looking at fault lines in the limestone.

Happy Birthday Joshua!!! Officially Double Digits

Joshua's 10th Birthday - Donut you think10 is terrific? 

We had so much fun celebrating Joshua's birthday! We are SO grateful to have Joshua as part of our family.

TEN reasons why we adore him so much:

1) He has the best sense of humor and often quotes movies to get the family laughing.

2) He LOVES scouts as much as I do. He works hard and earns tons of awards.

3) He is the biggest Star Wars fan I know. If you get him talking about Star Wars, he can talk forever. 

4) He is a bit of perfectionist. He has a vision of his schoolwork or different assignments and stays at it until it is just right. 

5) He is a kind and unselfish brother. Being right in the middle, he does a great job of hanging with his older brothers and entertaining his sisters. 

6) He is grown up enough to really help in the work around the house and the yard work. I'm grateful that he will dig in and help us get it done.

7) He is a great student and he is smart as a whip! He is going to do great in school. He loves to read.

8) He has a musical ear that he uses on the piano and he knows the music he loves. He has created his own playlist of "his music."

9) He is organized. He takes great care of all of his possessions and is willing to share/show his little sister his prized possessions. Lego men, rocks, animal furs, fish bait. All boy things.

10) He is genuinely good kid who is grateful and easy to get along with.

I'm so glad he is my son!

My Shopping Buddy

I love having Rachel shop with me. While shopping for Halloween costumes, there were so many things that caught our attention and then we saw llamas not too far from the store. It was a fun day.

What a GREAT week at preschool. The Girls had lots of fun with gorillas, goats, giraffes, and grapes. The letter G has never been so GIGANTIC!

On the Field

Allan is loving football this season. His favorite position is receiver and catches a pass every game. They only throw about five passes a game since the quarterbacks are still learning and they also do not want to throw interceptions. Last week, Allan caught a pass while be guarded and ran it in for a touchdown. He gained about 30 yards. It made for a great game. He continues to be a running back and a lineman.

Caught you! She was trying to get down the old camera to take pictures and didn't want anyone to know. 

Dangerous. Rachel is a careful child and usually doesn't do things like this.

 Rachel LOVES her clothes and changes about three or four times a day. Sometimes her combinations are well put together and other times, a little crazy.

Being the only child home, she loves to watch tv but she especially loves when someone is home to play with. She work up early one morning and decided it was a Joshua day. She followed him around and made him do things for her. When it came time to read scriptures, she made him read aloud to her. Joshua can be so sweet to her.
