Hinges
In my life, there are always changes going on but sometimes a door opens and there is a big decision to make. Pres. Hinckley said, “Have you ever looked at a great farm gate that opens and closes? If you look at the hinge, it moves ever so little, just a little movement of that hinge creates tremendous consequences out into the perimeter. That is the way it is with our lives. It is the little decisions that make the great differences in our lives.”
Five years ago we moved from Gilbert, AZ to Allen, TX. For us, it just felt right although at times I thought we were crazy to leave behind a job of security and a comfortable home. We had tons of friends but we still wanted this new adventure. When we got here, it was stressful. Try unpacking a house with four young kids while your husband is working and trying to establish himself in a new job. It is summer, so you have them all day! Allan was 7 years old when we moved here and expressed that he missed his friends. It was a fun/tough summer reestablishing ourselves. Now looking back, moving was the best decision we made. Jacob came to love his job here and really helped the company. I made so many new friends and I love my neighbors. After being here in Texas five years, I can say it was definitely the right decision.
